Andrea Gafford

Andrea has a master’s in biotechnology management and Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a focus in genetic engineering from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is a molecular biologist by trade and has ten years of experience in R&D, biotech, and chemical industries. She currently works at Cytiva an end to end solutions provider covering the Philadelphia area in the gene and cell therapy market. Andrea is an avid volunteer. She was the social media manager for the Rare Genomics Institute from 2013-2014 and the Chair of the Social Media and Communications team at the New York Society of Cosmetic Chemists 2018-2019. She established the NYSCC Social Media Team Scholarship Program in 2018. She was invited to the Rutgers Industrial Advisor Board in 2019 and guest lectures every semester for the Professional Science Master’s program. In her off time, Andrea is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance instructor and enjoys hiking, permaculture, woodworking, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her husband Matt and two cats Robert Noodle and Diamond.
