Frank Hallinan

Frank Hallinan is Senior Director, Quality Strategy at the Pfizer Collegeville facility. Hallinan joined Wyeth in 2002 as Quality Site Leader at the then new Grange Castle Biotech facility and remained there until Jan 2010 when he took up his current position focusing on Biotech. Hallinan graduated in Biochemistry from UCC, Ireland and subsequently received his PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Southampton, UK. After a period in biotechnology and medical research in Ireland, Canada and the USA Hallinan joined the biopharmaceutical industry with Schering-Plough at their Cork facility in 1987. Hallinan worked with Schering-Plough in development, quality and regulatory functions until 1998 when he became Chief Executive of the Irish Medicines Board. During his tenure with the Irish Medicines Board Hallinan was responsible for a number of new developments within the Agency including its taking responsibility for medical devices. Hallinan is very interested in education and training and is also adjunct professor of pharmaceutical regulatory affairs at the School of Pharmacy, Trinity College Dublin.
