Technical Advisor of the Inspection Division Director
Jacques Morénas is a civil servant as "pharmacien général de santé publique" and belongs to the pharmacist-inspector profession. He graduated as a pharmacist from the faculty of pharmacy (1977) [University of Clermont-Ferrand (France)] and received his pharmacist inspector degree from the National School for Public Health (1980) [Rennes (France)]. He had assumed different positions in the French health administration in the Ministry of Health and in the regional inspectorate of Paris. He joined the French Drug Agency in 1993 and is actually deputy-director of the Inspection and Companies Directorate in the French Health Products Safety Agency (AFSSAPS), in Saint Denis (France). He is in charge of international affairs (in the field of pharmaceutical and human products) and quality management (for the Inspection and Companies Directorate). At the European level, he is the AFSSAPS’s representative to the GMDP IWG of European Medicines Agency (EMEA-Londres). At the International level, he is the current chairman of the Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme (PIC/S). He is also involved, as EU expert, in ICH working group in charge of implementation of Q8, Q9 and Q10 documents and he is participating to the WHO program on pre-qualification of vaccines (assessment of National Regulatory Authorities).
