Thursday, March 8th is International Women’s Day and as described on the United Nations website:
”It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. International Women's Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe.”
The day has become a rallying point for programs, events and coming together in celebration of women and their achievements. However, the challenge is ensuring that for the other 364 days in the year there is still the same focus and commitment to continue enabling women to soar.
